Opportunity Description

As a Community Collection Volunteer, you will represent Blood Cancer UK in your local community by organising and hosting your own bucket collections at venues such as supermarkets, sports clubs, stations, high streets, or other public locations.

You will arrange your own team of volunteers to engage with the public, raise awareness about Blood Cancer UK, and encourage donations in a friendly and approachable manner.

This flexible, year-round role allows you to organise events around your availability. We encourage volunteers to aim for 3-4 events or collections each year. Our Regional Managers will support you every step of the way, providing training and all necessary materials to ensure your events are successful.

Please note, the minimum age for this role is 18. This is a volunteer opportunity where you will play a key role in fundraising and raising awareness in your community.

How will I be making a difference?

The funds you raise will help us invest in research to:

Develop cures for those with blood cancer, now and in the future.
Improve treatment and care for those living with blood cancer today.
Prevent blood cancer from developing in the first place.

Hosting a collection at your local supermarket or sports club helps us reach many people and raise essential donations. Every penny you collect has a significant impact:

£150 could fund a researcher to analyse 120 blood cell samples, potentially leading to a breakthrough.
£210 could help send expert patient information to all those diagnosed with blood cancer today.
£500 could fund a research nurse for three days, supporting patients during their treatment
