Brookside Community Pantry improves the lives of people in the local neighbourhood helping to make differences to financial situations whilst bringing people together to strengthen the community and contribute to healthier, happier lives. 

Brookside Community Pantry offers a personal shopping experience where customers have time to chat with staff, volunteers, and other shoppers. Meal plans and recipes are created to give people ideas to prepare healthy food options. 

Volunteer responsibilities will be to: 

Welcome and assist customers with their shop.  

Provide information about the Pantry scheme and products. 

Ensure areas are kept to necessary hygiene standards.  

Help with sales transactions and packing customers purchases. 

 

Requirements

Good communication and customer service skills. Have basic reading, writing and maths skills. Able to follow instructions given by co-ordinator and work as part of a small team. Personal qualities: Calm and polite approach to the public. Punctual and reliable. Support the Brookside Big Local ethos of being welcoming and accessible to all. Commitment to the equality and diversity of the local community. Times required: Wednesday 9:30am – 12:30pm Friday 9:30am – 12:30pm
