Volunteer Telford

Help us share our partners’ work supporting deaf and deafblind children and young people in Sub-Saharan Africa.

You will work remotely to create posts in Canva using partner updates, photographs, stories, website content, and material from our copywriters; plan and schedule content; support fundraising appeals; monitor comments and messages; and review results.

Join a friendly volunteer team, use your creativity, and help us reach more supporters, with support and room to bring ideas and take ownership.

Home-based/remote and flexible, approximately 2–4 hours a week, to be agreed with you. No fixed days required. Tasks can be completed and posts scheduled in advance.

You will receive an introduction, access to the tools you need and support from our volunteer communications team.

Planting, weeding, watering, simple garden tasks. Instruction given. 

One morning per month. 2nd Tuesday of every month from 10 till 1pm, weather permitting.

Volunteers would report to the team leader, James Warham. They are responsible for themselves and any children they bring.

Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) is a rare genetic disorder causing blindness, learning disability, obesity and many other symptoms. BBS UK is the only UK charity supporting those with BBS and is committed to promoting positive health and wellbeing within the BBS community.

We do this by providing a range of support, information and advocacy services ensuring that those who contact us are supported, connected and informed about BBS and empowered to achieve the best possible outcome BBS UK is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and are looking for trustees who bring a range of experiences and skills to complement our team.

As a Trustee you will have: induction, training and reimbursable expenses.

Read Easy Telford and Shropshire East is affiliated to Read Easy UK, a national charity that helps adults learn to read and which has nearly 60 groups across England.

Read Easy Telford & Wrekin was established in 2019 and continues to grow to be a highly impactful local group with an increasing number of Reading Pairs (Reading Coach and Reader).

It is run by a hard-working, dedicated group of team members, all of whom are also volunteers.
The group is now seeking a new Referral Networker (Telford area).

This is a vital and interesting role within our Management Team to create and develop relationships with local agencies, such as Job Centres, social services and many others who may be able to refer potential readers to the group.

This voluntary position will suit people who thrive on networking and making new connections. The longevity of our local groups is down to securing a steady stream of Reader referrals, so you will play an instrumental part in making sure your group thrives.
