Local homelessness organisations Stay, Maninplace, Kip and YMCA are looking for flexible people who just want to help in general, wouldn't mind being an extra pairs of hands and willing to take on a variety of tasks.

This could involve being an extra pair of hands during group sessions and helping out with the associated tasks. This also could include making drinks, handing out materials, helping clients, setting up and clearing away the activities etc.

By becoming a Story Starter volunteer you will give a child in a local early years setting/nursery the skills to start primary school ready to read. You’ll open up their lives to the magic of stories and provide crucial language development in a way which is fun for both you and the child!

How does it work?

As a Story Starter you will support three children aged 3-5 years' old on a one-to-one basis, using play and stories to develop and enrich their use of language.

You’ll need to commit to volunteering at a local nursery for one hour, twice a week during nursery hours.

You’ll receive professional training and support to ensure that you are best able to support young children and feel comfortable in a modern nursery setting.

Local homelessness organisations Stay, Maninplace, Kip and YMCA are seeking passionate and caring people to help fundraise in order to raise vital funds for their work supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the area.

We need help with fundraising events already set up, arranging new fundraising events and encouraging others to fundraise to help Telford's homeless.

There is no set requirement regarding the amount of time it is simply as much time as you are able to give. No previous experience required.
