Wellington Walkers Are Welcome are a voluntary group which has two main objectives:
Having met the criteria for membership, the town was awarded Walkers are Welcome status in June 2010. The Walkers are Welcome UK Network is a nationwide initiative, launched in 2007, to encourage towns and villages to be ‘welcoming to walkers’. The network has expanded rapidly and there are now over 100 locations across the UK that have joined this innovative community-led scheme to benefit from Walkers are Welcome accreditation.

Our Regular Walks
We provide FREE guided walks on the 1st and 3rd SUNDAY of each month starting at 2.00pm outside Wellington Leisure Centre, TF1 1LX.
Walks typically last between 90 – 120 minutes.
Our walks take us to
Wellington Walking Festival Each year we organise the local walking festival which offers a wide selection of FREE walks in and around the area. Walks range in difficulty from easy to strenuous with many being themed and/or educational in nature (e.g. Bat Walks, Geology Walks, Map and Compass training).
