Volunteer Telford

Telford and Wrekin Council offer an activity volunteer programme for their Care Leavers. The programme’s aim is to develop individuals and group participation, increase wellbeing, team building skills, motivation and social inclusion.

This role will be to support the Participation Officer in the delivery of the leaving care team participation activities and events.

Responsibilities would include assisting the Participation Officer to manage group dynamics, engage with the young people and participate in a range of participation workshops and activities.

As a Sales Assistant Volunteer you will be at the till, serving customers as the friendly face of your shop.

You will help people facing poverty around the world by giving great customer service and making donors, customers, and supporters feel welcome in our shop.

We’ll give you ongoing training and support so that you can feel right at home as part of the Oxfam Community!

We will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of our team. You don’t need to have any experience – we’ve got you covered. You can also get some lunch and travel costs too. Whatever you need, we’re here to help.

As a Sales Assistant Volunteer you’ll develop skills that boost your confidence:

Serving customers on the till, handling cash and card payments.

Creating a friendly shop environment to make everyone feel welcome.

Improving your communication skills in this customer-facing role.

What you will do:

Delivering hot meals to the vulnerable within Donnington and surrounding areas

Time commitment:

1 to 3 times a week

Monday to Friday between the hours from 11.30am to 12.30pm

Donnington Community Hub, Donnington, Telford,TF2 7PR

Support:

The volunteer will be supported by Rose (Catering manager) and Shirley (chef)

The volunteer will not be responsible for any other members of staff

No previous experience with young people? No problem.

We need help with planning programmes, youth leadership, administration, behind-the-scenes support, equipment & site maintenance, trusteeship & adult leadership, communications & publicity, and more.
