Helping our busy store team to move goods from collection to the shop floor, including sorting items for sale, function testing, health and safety checks of goods in and pricing items.

We can reimburse reasonable travelling expenses and we provide tea, coffee and biscuits. You will also be able to get a 25% discount on donated goods, and get access to an online discounts platform and virtual GP.

Our minimum age to volunteer is 17, but we can accept 16-year-olds through our work experience opportunity.

Get Involved in Adult Social Care

Are you an expert with lived experience of Adult Social Care?

We are looking for volunteers who currently or have in the past accessed Adult Social Care, care and support services to work with us. To ensure that those who have lived experience (experts by experience) are heard, valued, and can inform, question, and challenge our developments and practice. 

We are looking for volunteers to join our various boards, get involved in projects and pieces of time-limited co-production activity.

This may include:

- Providing feedback or sharing experiences with decision makers

- Reviewing policies and procedures

- Assisting in recruitment processes

- Networking in a positive way with other people who have an interest or access adult social care

- Commissioning and contracting activities – involvement in commissioning new or reviewing existing services

- Reviewing public information prior to release to ensure accuracy and readability

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, Telford and Wrekin currently run 17 walks across 11 different locations in Telford, most are weekly, with one running twice a month and 3 just once a month.

These walks are supported by 26 active leaders. Unlike many Ramblers Wellbeing Walks schemes, this is run by a purely volunteer group.  

The aims of the scheme are to provide free, friendly, dependable walks that only need good footwear. The walks are graded at 3 levels, none lasting longer than 90 mins.

The scheme is now looking for Walk Leaders:

Although the scheme is running successfully, recruiting more walk leaders would decrease the pressure on current leaders and give more flexibility.  Map reading and compass skills not required!

Main duties:

Leading a particular walk(s) on a schedule to be agreed.

Time Commitment:

Up to 3 hours weekly, at agreed times and venues

Minimum commitment:  1 hour on a regular basis a month.  

Location:

Various locations across Telford.

Having recently embedded our work more fully in Telford by opening a hub in Meeting Point House at Southwater, we would like to ramp up our efforts by creating a local fundraising committee.

The role would involve various fundraising duties such as: organising, attending and promoting events.

Placing and maintaining donation tins.

Making new connections within the local community and sharing leads with the wider fundraising team.

Seeking permission to place posters to advertise events.

Recruiting more committee members.

Sourcing raffle prizes.

A mixed range of dates and times to include some evenings and weekends.

Ideally a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week.
