Events volunteers help raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK at events. They talk to members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK, offer appropriate Diabetes UK materials and answer general queries.

What the role involves:

Talk to members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK

Offer appropriate Diabetes UK publications/materials.

Answer general queries and signpost people to their GP if they are worried or would like further information.

Encourage to visit our website for further information about how Diabetes UK can support them.

As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.

We’re looking for inspirational communicators who will enjoy championing our work at churches and community groups, both in person and on Zoom. 

The role is flexible in terms of hours, as we want it to be the best fit for you as you generously offer your skills and time.

You’ll be given ongoing support, training and resources from your Community Partnership Manager, who is only ever a phone call away.

You may also have the exciting opportunity to visit our projects overseas.

Our volunteers are kindly asked to commit to a minimum of 6 speaking engagements per annum. These engagements can either be sourced by the volunteer within their community or provided by our Community Partnership Managers.

Engagements can take place at any time/date that is convenient for volunteers, however a typical speaking engagement takes place on a Sunday morning or weekday evenings.

We are committed to diversity and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community.

Deliver food/meals to luncheon clubs and residents in their own homes.

Opportunity for volunteers to work with an already established team of volunteers and Parish Council members, to run the Donnington & Muxton Youth Council.  Role will involve helping to arrange and run activities for the young people, attend team meetings and help with fund raising
